put them on this page.
Pay a handling fee of 200 yen to get small changes
for 100 yen?
I think many of you aware of how prices are high in Japan. These days,
the most banks charge a handling fee for changing yen into yen. For
example, you need to pay a fee of 200 yen if you want to change a
100-yen coin to 100 one-yen coins at one of major Japanese banks,
even you use a money-exchange MACHINE. It depends on the number
of notes or coins being handled. You know, there are many things have
changed since I left Japan about a decade ago. I knew that I must
pay 10 bucks for a cup of coffee and 30 bucks for watching a movie
at a theatre, but I didn't know this trick at Japanese banks, where
you can only get 10 yen, one year after keeping 1
million yen in a term deposit. I should be more careful when
I visit - still my country - Japan from now on??? |
